Parenthood is such a special thing, and maternity photos are an amazing way to celebrate your new child and your growing family! Kaylee and Justin's first pregnancy was celebrated at Finch Arboretum in Spokane, and then sunset photos at Palisades Park. It was easy to see just how much these two individuals cherish each other, and how much they already love the little one they'll have this summer! It was a blast taking their photos, and I'm very happy with my first maternity session!

Amanda has graduated! Amanda is my roommate and one of my best friends. I am so proud of her to finally have this degree an then to get a job in her field right away! She is now a certified tree hugger, getting her degree in biology, geology, and environmental science. We went out to Turnbull Wildlife Refuge just outside of Cheney for her photos, because this was basically her campus! Here's to a lifetime of digging in soil (she gets mad when I call it dirt), looking at bugs, inspecting plants, and saving Spokane's natural areas!
Jordan and Marlena's May wedding was beautiful! I was so nervous when Marlena asked if I could do both photo and video at her wedding.... I had never done it before! I'm so glad that I agreed, because it was so good! This stretched my creativity and planning, and it truly made me a more versatile photographer! This wedding was so beautiful and the love can truly be felt between everyone there! I'm so happy with how these turned out and that Marlena and Jordan get a beautiful video to remember their day forever! Aaron and Annette are such a sweet couple. They are so kind to each other, and are so obviously in love. We went out to Tubbs Hill in Coeur d'Alene, and initially had to wait for the heavy rain to pass! Once the rain stopped, we had a great time hiking around and finding the little beach that was special to Annette. This couple was great and was so open to any direction I gave them and any pose I wanted to try. I can't wait to photograph their wedding in July!
I think Chris wins fiance of the year after agreeing to do a second engagement session! Cherish and Chris wanted to do a spring session to celebrate their last few months as an engaged couple and to celebrate just how amazing Spokane looks this time of year. We went to Indian Canyon park in west Spokane, and hiked through a creek to a little waterfall, then hiked/climbed straight up the steep cliff-side! When I say I'll go anywhere for your photos, I mean it! Next we went to Palisades park to catch the beautiful golden sunset as well as an incredible view of downtown Spokane. This is easily one of my favorite spots in Spokane for photos, and I can't wait to see Cherish and Chris at their wedding in July!
This. Session. Was. So. Much. FUN! Michaela is my roommate, and we decided to do an adventurous session right by our house. The field near us was too pretty to pass up, and Beau could always use some time to run around! I also got to teach Michaela how to take some photos, and got a chance to be on the other side of the camera! This was a fun, artsy session to play around with different settings, light, focus, and editing. It's a wonderful thing to have roommates who enjoy being in photos!
As a gift, one of the brides I will be working with this summer got her parents a mini session with me to say thank you for all of the hard work they've done to make her wedding perfect. Let me tell you, Alex and Coral are a cool couple. We went to Spokane's Manito Park, which is absolutely beautiful in the spring and summer. I even convinced them that going into the greenhouse would be an awesome photo location, and the photos did not disappoint! I can't wait to see all of their hard work come together at their daughter's wedding in July!
Logan met Victoria, and the rest is history. Logan was a friend of mine in high school and I remember when they first started dating. There was a small change in Logan, and we could see that there was something special about this girl from Pullman. Soon after, Logan moved to Pullman to be closer to her and we sat around wondering when he would propose! Well, May 5, 2019 was the day! Logan texted me only a couple of hours before he planed on proposing, and thankfully it all fell into place! I started out taking some family photos at Logan's mom's house, and then an hour or so later went to surprise Victoria after their lunch. It was so sweet to be included in this surprise, and it was so much fun hiding behind a bush to get some great photos! Congratulations, Logan and Victoria!
Tessa was so on-top of getting her graduation photos done that she contacted me over a year ago! This totally suits this hard working girl, though! Tessa and I went to high school together, and it was so cool to get to see her again and see how life has gone for her in the last few years. She worked her tail off, graduating with a degree that I sure never would have attempted! I think the stack of books she has from just the last two years is more than all of the books I had after four years of college! Tessa's boyfriend Dane joined us for this session, and we managed to get him in a couple of photos as well! Congratulations, Tessa!
This session was truly fun for me, not only because I love senior portraits, but because I got to drive down to Pullman to visit my good friend Cj and do these photos for his lovely girlfriend! Cj has been an incredible friend of mine since high school, and I was so happy when Rhianna asked me to come down to so her graduation portraits at WSU. Rhianna is so funny, and such a light spirit. And, her love of cats automatically makes her cool in my eyes! She even incorporated her cat Mojo into the session! I had a wonderful tome with these photos, and I can't wait to see where life takes this fantastic young couple!
Cody and Kellisa's wedding was a gamble. Outdoor wedding, in March, in the PNW, with several feet of snow across the land just one week before their wedding. But, heaven smiled down because we had the most beautiful, snow-free sunny warm day! I felt like family at this small, intimate Post Falls, Idaho party. This fun couple let their love speak for itself during their special day, including friends and family as much as possible. Friends coordinated, decorated, and cooked for the wedding, and the bride's grandmother even made Kellisa's dress! Simple, special day, with big, special love.
These girls officially won coldest session I've ever done! At 15 degrees plus a wind chill that made us understand the life of penguins, we braved the thigh-deep snow for some amazing sister photos. Turnbull Wildlife Refuge just outside of Cheney is gorgeous all year around, and I am so glad that these girls decided to adventure into the cold and into the woods! I love family photos, and I loved capturing the love between these sisters!
What a fun way to spend a February afternoon with my high school friend Jerika and her daughter Leena! Leena is so sweet, and was so happy to explore everything around her. She especially liked the stuffed giraffe, and would knock it over trying to hug it! It was a challenge to keep her in the set, though, as she just wanted to chase my cat around the house! I am so glad I got to document Leena after her first trip around the sun and capture the happy spirit she is.
What an honor to serve my cousin Robyn as her videographer on her wedding day! I was so nervous, because this was my first time doing wedding videography and I had no clue what I was doing....what a time to mess up, right? On your cousin's one and only wedding? All my nerves aside, I am so happy with how this turned out! It captures not only the relationship between Robyn and Sam, but also the deep love and support of all who joined them on that day! What a perfect way to relive your wedding over and over again! Jackie and Taylor are such fun people to be around! So many goofy faces and loads of laughs really made their Mount Spokane and Riverside State Park sessions a blast. The love they have for each other is so strong and so incredible, and I can't wait to see them on their wedding day this summer!
Angela and I had no idea what was coming. When Randy asked if we could take a photo of him kneeling down, Angela looking excited, only to be disappointed when he began to tie his shoe, we agreed, thinking this was a silly request. However, once he was done tying his shoe he pulled out a ring and proposed FOR REAL!!! I am so blessed to have been the one to capture Angela's true surprise and joy. I have never seen a couple so happy to be together than in that moment. Lake Coeur d'Alene's gorgeous scenery only added to the romance of this session; the mountains and trees framing out the couple like they're the only people in the world. Congratulations to Angela and Randy!
Going to Bowl and Pitcher in November can be one of two things: cold, wet, and miserable, or sunny day with amazing fall colors. Thankfully, we experienced a lovely day during Braedon's November senior photos! We hit the sun at the right time to make November look like warm, summer days, but there were still enough clouds at times to give us the classic Pacific Northwest moody atmosphere. Braedon was willing to climb any rock, get close to the water, and even face a steep, sloped trail to make the most of his senior portraits, and I am so happy with how they turned out!
I am so, so glad I got to work with Sadie and take her senior portraits. Sadie has such a fun sense of humor, and I definitely appreciate some of the goofy photos and how much fun she had taking them. She is in to art just like I am, so we walked around Spokane looking for murals as backdrops to her downtown photos. To showcase her viola, Manito park provided a lush and colorful background (still in November -- WOW!) that created such dreamy photos. In a second session, Sadie's grandparents were amazing enough to welcome me into their home so we could take photos of Sadie and her dog, Daisy, with the barn her family built. All three locations brought out different parts of Sadie and her life, I couldn't have picked a better session for her!
I loved this session! Abigayle is such a wonderful person, and totally deserved everything we did for her senior portraits! We started out at Riverside State Park in Spokane, then went to a gymnastics studio in north Spokane to showcase the love she has for the sport she grew up doing. Last, after a last-minute decision, we added another hour onto the session and went to downtown Spokane to get some AMAZING Christmas light photos!! Abigayle was so much fun to photograph, and I am so glad that we extended our session and got some of my favorite photos ever!
Kylia and her family wanted some iconic Spokane photos to celebrate not only her senior year of high school, but also their return to Spokane from life abroad in Mozambique, Africa. What was originally a windy, nasty day turned into a beautiful, softly-lit session for Kylia's downtown photos. The fall colors really popped, making for a wonderful October session!
Jack is such a funny guy, and his senior photo session was tons of fun because of it! We captured the amazing fall colors at Finch Arboretum, and then the classic Spokane architecture downtown. He was totally willing to climb any tree and jump any creek to get the perfect photo, and it paid off! What a wonderful Spokane session!
Grace's senior portraits are some of my favorite senior photos of this year! The light could not have been better - cloudy when we needed soft light, and sunny when we wanted golden hour looks. Downtown Spokane and a field just outside of Cheney blended so well, incorporating both the rustic and urban parts of her personality.
Monica was so much fun to work with, and reminded me so much of my high school self. She was so interested in all of the colors around downtown and was particularly drawn to red trees! This more quiet, reserved girl has such a contagious laugh, and the photos of her laughing are my absolute favorite! I am so glad that we had a great time and got some great photos!
Chloe is an exchange student from Belgium, spending her "gap year" between high school and college in Belgium here in Spokane. So, for her senior portraits, we decided to go to downtown Spokane to get classic Spokane pictures to remember her time here. Chloe is so much fun and so adventurous; it was a blast taking her photos! And it's also fun to finally have someone I can speak French with! I can't believe how perfect the sun was, either! Every photo is just as light and airy as this girl's spirit, so she truly has photos that match her personality.
Chris and Cherish are so sweet, and clearly in love. We went all the way to the top of Mount Spokane (also known as the sketchiest drive of my life - no guard rail!) for their romantic Pacific Northwest engagement session. They were so candid and natural together, it made my job easy! I am so happy to have gotten to take their photos in this beautiful setting!
